Vijay has been delighting his fans with the all aspects like acting, dancing and also singing. The song, Baby Baby sung by him in the movie Kaadalukku Mariyadai made him very popular as a singer too. This actually should not be surprising as his uncle S.N. Surendar had lent his voice for Mohan in the good old days and his mother has also given concerts and released music albums. Vijay wants to do Rajini's film

Vijay, many Kollywood observers, have said is the true follower of Rajinikanth's formula.

So it should come as small surprise that Vijay has evinced interest in doing a Rajini movie as a remake.

As everyone knows, today's fad is to remake and re-interpret hits of yesteryear.

Bollywood has started the trend. There is a talk of Tamil movies too following suit.

Among Rajini's hits, Billa and Thee are billed to be remade again.

In this context, Vijay, asked by a Tamil newspaper, has specifically said that if Rajini's blockbuster Murattu Kalai is remade, he would want to play the title role.

In a sense, it is also apt that somebody like Vijay, who has a mass following, take up the mantle of Rajinikanth.

Vijay to join with A R Rahman again

They are the two big names in Tamil cinema. Vijay and Rahman share many things in common. Youngsters swear for them and scream their lungs out when their new movie is out. They are the youth icons of Tamil cinema. Wouldn’t that be nice to have them together in a movie? Well, they have worked in Udaya and owing to many complexities, the movie’s release was hopelessly delayed. When it was finally released it only managed to create a mediocre response and vanished from the box office in a jiffy.

That was history though. We have got news from reliable industry sources that Vijay’s next movie will have Rahman’s music. Vijay has finalized on his next movie as he had promised earlier to work for Appachan’s banner Swargachitra. His commitment to Pokkiri delayed the process and now as Pokkiri is in the verge of completion, Vijay has nodded his agreement to Appachan to go ahead with the plans.

Bharathan who worked with Vijay in Gilli as an Assistant Director and dialogue writer will be directing the movie, which is named as ‘Azhagiya Tamil Magan’.

Rumors also suggest that Shreya is the lead choice for the movie. However, she can only confirm her commitment after the release of Sivaji as per her contract.

Shreya, Vijay’s choice for his next film

Pokkiri will soon get completed and Vijay would be ready for his next film. In all probability his next assignment would be for producer Appachan. The film in every likelihood will be directed by Bharathan, who hails from director Dharani’s school of filmmaking. It is learnt from reliable sources that Vijay is keen to cast Shreya as his leading lady for the film. But Shreya is playing her cards very carefully till the release of Sivaji. Shreya being a shrewd girl would weigh the pros and cons before deciding.

Meanwhile Suresh Balaji who is committed with Ajith for his next directorial venture called Kireedom is also keen to rope in Shreya.

But there appears to be pressure from other sources for the heroine spot for the same film. As we had reported in this website, Trisha has shown tremendous interest to be cast as Ajith’s heroine in the same film. Nothing concrete has been finalized as on date. We would very soon know about Shreya’s choice whether it is Ajith or Vijay.

Pokkiri follows the footsteps of Rajini??

Vijay’s next big release Pokkiri’s shoot is underway with a notable list of star cast. Asin stars opposite Vijay.

News here is that Prabhudeva the director and Vijay, after seeing the rushes, realized that the movie – unintentionally, we assume – looked like the remake of the Rajinikanth starrer Pandiyan directed by S.P.Muthuraman, which also was a launch pad for Karthik Raja rendering music for a song.

Pokkiri’s plot has close resemblance with Pandiyan and we sincerely hope that the Prabhudeva has not got any inspiration from that movie. Vijay seems not to be happy with the outcome of the movie hitherto and has decided upon changing some parts of the story line and reshoot some sequences that have been canned earlier.

Pokkiri has generated huge interest among the movie going public and is hailed to be Vijay’s next big release. Another interesting feature of the movie is that it is debut venture of Prabhudeva in Tamil.

There are always rumors that Vijay is a bit more superstitious than others when it comes to selecting his heroines. For some time now, Trisha was his favorite heroine. But according to rumors, he was hesitant about signing her up for his new film ?Pokiri? because his previous film with her didn?t do well.

Vijay said, "I?m really not the one to answer to this question. Both Asin and Trisha had acted with me in superhit films. When I started looking for a heroine for my new film ?Pokiri?, my mother and Sangeetha (his wife) had suggested Trisha?s name. They added that if she doesn?t have callsheets, I should consider Asin?s name. My mother and wife felt that I share an excellent onscreen rapport with both these actresses.

"They didn?t want me to work with North-Indian actresses. New actresses who come from Kerala are very brilliant. They know that you can?t hold on in the industry for long if you rely solely on glamour.

"Both Asin and Trisha know how to strike a balance between glamour and acting. Both are very talented."

Vijay and Ajith - Healthy Competition

Currently Ajith is shooting for Aazhwar and the movie is expected to release by 2007 April. He has plans of doing a movie with debutant director Vijay Anand (An associate of film maker Priyadharshan) after completing Aazhwar. Aazhwar is planned to release on the day of Rajini's Sivaji.

போக்கிரி படப்பிடிப்பின் போது விபரீத நிகழ்ச்சி ஒன்று நடந்துள்ளது. பிரபுதேவா இயக்கத்தில், விஜய், அசின் நடிப்பில் வளர்ந்து வருகிறது போக்கிரி.

சமீபத்தில் பாடல் காட்சி ஒன்றை படமாக்கியுள்ளனர். பிரபுதேவா தான் அந்தக் காட்சிக்கு டான்ஸ் வடிவமைத்திருந்தார். விஜய்யுடன் இரண்டு நடனப் பெண்கள் உடன் ஆடினர். வித்தியாசமாக இருக்கட்டுமே என்று வெறும் துப்பட்டாவை மட்டும் அப்பெண்களின் உடலில் ஆடை போல சுற்றி ஆட விட்டார்கள்.

வெறும் துப்பட்டாவை மட்டும் ஆடையாக வைத்து ஆடினால், துப்பட்டா நழுவிவிடுமே என்று பிரபுதேவாவிடம் அந்த நடனப் பெண்கள் அச்சம் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர். ஆனால் அப்படியெல்லாம் ஆகாது என்று கூறி அவர்களை துப்பட்டாவுடன் ஆட விட்டுள்ளார் பிரபுதேவா.

அந்தப் பெண்கள் நினைத்தபடியே நடந்து விட்டது. சுற்றிலும் ஏராளமான ஆண்கள் குழுமியிருக்க துப்பட்டாவுடன் அப்பெண்கள் சுழன்று சுழன்று ஆடிய போது, திடீரென இருவரும் அணிந்திருந்த துப்பட்டா நழுவி விட்டது. இதனால் யூனிட்டே அதிர்ச்சியில் மூழ்கி விட்டது.

அதை விட அந்த இரு பெண்களும் கூசிப் போய் விட்டனர். விழுந்த துப்பட்டாவை எடுத்து உடலை மூடியபடி இருவரும் டிரஸ்ஸிங் ரூமுக்கு ஓடினர்.

பின்னாலேயே ஓடிய பிரபு தேவா, ஸாரிம்மா, இதை நான் எதிர்பார்க்கவில்லை, வேறு காஸ்ட்யூம் போட்டுக் கொண்டு படப்பிடிப்பை தொடரலாம் என இரு பெண்களையும் அழைத்துள்ளார். ஆனால் கண்களில் நீர்மல்க நின்ற இருவரும், எங்களால் மறுபடியும் ஆடவர முடியாது சார், அத்தனை பேருக்கும் முன்னால் எங்கள் மானம் போய் விட்டதே என்று புலம்பியுள்ளனர்.

அவர்களை அரும்பாடு பட்டு சமாதானப்படுத்திய பின்னர்அந்தபாடல் காட்சியை தொடர்ந்து எடுத்து முடித்தார்களாம்.

விஜய்தான் அடுத்த சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் என்று அமைச்சர் ஆற்காடு வீராசாமி கூறினார்.

அட்லாண்டா சினிமாஸ் என்ற நிறுவனத்தின் சார்பில் எஸ்.உமாபதி தயாரிக்கும் படம் ‘காதலில் விழுந்தேன்’. இப் படத்தின் துவக்க விழா சென்னையில் நேற்று நடந்தது. இதில் மின்சாரத்துறை அமைச்சர் ஆற்காடு வீராசாமி பேசியதாவது:

ஒரு காலத்தில் நடிகர்-நடிகைகளுக்கு பாட, ஆட, நடிக்க தெரியவேண்டும். இன்றைக்கு தொழில்நுட்ப வளர்ச்சி காரணமாக நடிக்க மட்டுமே தெரிந்தால் போதும் என்ற நிலை உள்ளது. அதனால் நிறைய நடிகர்-நடிகைகள் வருகிறார்கள்.

இரண்டு வருடத்தில் காணாமலும் போய்விடுகிறார்கள். அந்த காலத்தில் 25 வருடத்துக்கும் மேலாக சினிமாவில் நிலைத்து நின்றார்கள். எம்.ஜி.ஆர், சிவாஜிக்கு பிறகு கமல், ரஜினி நிலைத்து நின்றார்கள். இப்போது விஜய், விக்ரம், அஜீத், சூர்யா, ஜெயம்ரவி நிற்கிறார்கள்.

இப்போது வரக்கூடிய நடிகர்கள் குறைந்தது 10 ஆண்டுகளாவது நிலைத்து நிற்க வேண்டும். அதற்காக யாரையும் பார்த்து காப்பி அடித்து நடிக்காமல் தங்களுக்கென்று தனிதன்மையை ஏற்படுத்திக் கொள்ளவேண்டும். விஜய்யின் படங்களை அதிகம் பார்க்கும் வாய்ப்பு எனக்கு கிடைத்துள்ளது. ரஜினிக்கு பிறகு அவர்தான் சூப்பர் ஸ்டாராக இருப்பார்.

Pokkiri name to be changed?

Vijay’s father S A Chandrashekar is not too happy with the title ‘Pokkiri’, says industry sources. He seemed to have commented about the negative shade of the title and plans to change it soon. So in all probability the title of Pokkiri may be changed soon.

Meanwhile, unmindful of all the excitement that is hovering around the film, Vijay was said to be having a blast with the Mumbai import Mumaith Khan at the AVM studios for the shoot of the film.

Both of them were shooting for a dance number in the film. Incidentally Mumaith Khan also waltzed in the Telugu version of Pokkiri and the audience just went crazy over her gyrations. Such was the frenzy that was generated by Mumaith in the Telugu film. Needless to say, our Tamil audience wants to have an encore of the same here. When Telugu audience had the pleasure of enjoying the sleazy number of Mumaith, why should Tamilians be left behind?

So that explains Mumaith’s passionate dance number with Ilaya Thalapathy at the AVM. Now it is left for the audience to decide if Mumaith would take over the place of ‘item number girl’ in Kollywood or not.

Pokkiri: Very expensive!!

The initial reports on Pokkiri stated that it has been sold at near record prices in most parts of Tamil Nadu. This seems to have encouraged the producers and they have gone ahead and raised the bar for the rights in City NSC (Chennai city, North Arcot, South Arcot and Chenglepet). They have increased the rates of the movie so much that most of the distributors have backed out from buying the movie in the above said region.

The distributors seem to be wary of buying the movie after their pretty harsh experience with Aadhi.

This has generated speculations that City NSC rights will be procured by none other than S.A.Chandrashekhar himself. Now, will this pay off, literally or otherwise. We may have to wait till next year to find out.

Pokkiri’s vigourous progression with racy songs and punch dialogues!!

Prabhu Deva, who is now directing the hottest star in Tamil, Vijay, is all excited. Pokkiri, the Prabhu Deva directed Vijay starrer, has made the director very very excited. Pokiri anticipation grows

Pokiri is the next movie for actor Vijay. This movie is a remake of a Telugu movie of Mahesh Babu. The dance sensation Prabhu Deva is to direct this forthcoming movie.
