Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay's birthday
Vijay is affectionately known as Ilaya Thalapathy among his fans, which literally means "Young General" and is credited onscreen as such. He has starred and danced his way into people's hearts through several movies over the years. He is also the brand ambassador for various products. He made his debut as hero at the age of 18 in the film Naalaya Theerpu in 1992. While he was filming Minsara Kanna in 1999, he married Sangeetha. Pokiri anticipation grows
Pokiri is the next movie for actor Vijay. This movie is a remake of a Telugu movie of Mahesh Babu. The dance sensation Prabhu Deva is to direct this forthcoming movie. Prabhu Deva has so far directed two Telugu movies and both of them are hits. Hope he can do a hat-trick with this one! Prabhu Deva is very well known for his rubber bones and so we can expect great dance sequences in the movie.
Asin is pairing with Vijay in this movie, after the pair dazzled the screens in Sivakaasi. She plays the role of an Aerobics instructor. Prakashraj, Vadivelu, Nasser, Sriman and Napoleon are also acting in this movie. Music is scored by Mani Sharma. S.Ramesh Babu is producing this movie under the banner Ganarathnam Movies. Press conference for the movie was held on Monday. National award winner for dance choreography and one of the leading top stars of Kollywood are joining hands to give a smash hit. Pokiri is expected to be a Pongal release!
